Description
Our ART-211 is designed to replace the spare tire cross member on the Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra 2500HD & 3500HD models between 1999-2010. This part is CNC cut from 11 gage steel, bent, and welded by our AWS certified welders in our manufacturing facility in Cranston RI. Each cross member comes with new hardware to replace the rivets holding the rear leaf spring shackles and the original cross member to the frame. This part measures 41 1/2″ W x 17″ L x 7 3/4″ H.
This part DOES NOT come with a new spare tire hoisting mechanism, you will need to remove your original hoist from the cross member and attach it to your new SafeTCap cross member with the hardware provided. Our ART-211 has the driver side upper rear shock mount (ART-147) installed and welded to the cross member. Also, you will need to remove the trailer lighting plug board from your original cross member and attach it to the new cross member after installing it.
Each Art-211 comes with installation instructions.

This is a real nice heavy duty crossmember but for what it costs I would think you could weld on the exhaust hanger or at least throw one in the box. Now I have to go buy one and weld it on which obviously delays installation of the cross member.

Currently in the process of priming the crossmember to get it ready for install in the truck. Definitely a nice piece of hardware and a much better price than the used or refurbished factory parts i was able to find for hundreds more. Shipped quickly and the welds look like great quality.
